Rangers (40-28-9) at Carolina (42-28-7)

7pm ET on MSG

Another important game tonight as the Rangers continue to push for a playoff spot. It won't be easy as they play a surging Hurricanes team that is looking for its 10th straight win at home. The last game between these two teams resulted in the Hurricanes winning 3-0.

Cam Ward is expected to make his 25th straight start tonight for Carolina, going 16-6-2 during that stretch. Henrik Lundqvist is expected to start again tonight for the Rangers after posting his 3rd shutout of the season on Monday against the Devils (who by the way got demolished 6-1 last night by the Penguins). Lundqvist has only played the Hurricanes once so far in the previous three games between the teams this season, Valiquette was in between the pipes for New York for a win and a loss in the other two games.

Scott Walker of Carolina who has missed the last 11 games will be back in the lineup tonight. [Link]

In other games affecting the Rangers playoff positioning the Canadiens play the Islanders on Long Island. As a Ranger fan it's hard to cheer for the Islanders, but look at it two ways; first the win directly will help the Rangers by keeping Montreal from gaining ground on the Rangers and second it will lessen the chances of the Islanders getting the first overall pick in this year's draft.

Update (2pm): Michal Rozsival will not play tonight, he'll miss his 5th straight game. [Link]
