Rangers Headlines for Wednesday

  • Ok, so I knew it was an April Fool's joke, but the headline "Rangers Buyout Wade Redden" got me excited. [Link]

  • Interviews with Avery, Lundqvist and Dubinsky after today's practice. [Video]

  • Rozsival skated today at practice and will likely play tomorrow in Carolina. Also, Andrew Gross believes that if the Rangers can only afford Antropov or Zherdev next season that Tortorella would prefer Antropov... so would I. [Link]

  • Steve Zipay of NewsDay had the most obvious observation of the day, stating that Lundqvist is the key to the Rangers playoff drive. [Link]

This Day in Hockey History:

April 1st, 1994 - Goalie Mike Richter won his 38th game, breaking Ed Giacomin's 25-year-old Rangers' team record for wins in a season. It came in a 3-0 shutout over the visiting Dallas Stars. The shutout was the 9th of Richter's NHL career. [Link]
