New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Nigel Williams from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenseman Brian Fahey.I'm not going to pretend to know anything about Nigel Williams, but at the same time I don't know anything about Brian Fahey either. Basically, the Rangers traded a 28 year old career AHL defenseman for a 21 year old AHL defenseman that Hockey's Future had listed as the #3 prospect in the Colorado Avalanche's system.
Hockey's Future also says that "Williams possesses a big 6'4 225 lb frame. He has unusually good puck-handling and skating skills for a player of his size." The Rangers added yet another prospect defenseman to their system, which is not a bad thing, especially when the kid is a beast.
