Rangers Sign RFA Corey Potter

This is another signing by the Rangers that was expected. But, Ranger fans eagerly await word that Brandon Dubinsky has been re-signed.
New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defenseman Corey Potter.

Some reading from Blue Notes about the signing:
Potter will fight for a job in training camp on the third pair or as a seventh defenseman. No terms announced, but he earned $535,000 last season, and with a presumed 10 percent hike, that's $588,500.

The 6-foot-3 Potter, 25, recorded his first NHL point with an assist on Dec. 27, 2008 vs. New Jersey, and finished with two points (one goal and one assist) in five games. In Hartford, he put up 10 goals and 22 assists for 32 points, along with 82 penalty minutes in 67 games.
