Torts Screams "Wake Up!" And The Rangers Do!

Rangers 3 - Devils 2

Just 84 seconds into the game the Rangers were down 1-0 and John Tortorella was using his team's only timeout to tear into his team. After screaming with the veins popping out of his head, reading his lips you could see that his final words before the team went back on the ice were "Wake Up!"

Fortunately for the Rangers they did just that and were able to leave Newark with two points after a hard fought win.

My Pluses & Minuses

+ Matt Gilroy scored his 1st NHL goal, which turned out to be the GWG
+ Michael Del Zotto recorded his first two-point game of his short NHL career (1G, 1A)
+ The Rangers were 2 for 6 on the Power Play
+ The Prospal - Dubinsky - Gaborik line continues to look better with lots of chemistry
+ The fourth line of Voros - Boyle - Brashear had a solid game and Boyle did excellant job all night on the PK
Dan Girardi was solid
+ Chris Higgins also had a solid game, especially in the plays he was making away from the puck

- Rozsival and Redden continue to play lackadaisical for 90% of the game
- Defensive coverage still isn't very good. Rangers were fortune that the Devils didn't capitalize
- Lisin has been hot/cold so far this season, last night he did nothing
- Anisimov was invisible, if this continues he could be sent back to Hartford sooner rather than later.

What's next?

Rangers next practice is scheduled for Wednesday morning, at the MSG Training Center.
Their next game is this Thursday, when they head to the Verizon Center to take on the Capitals (7:00 p.m.). The game will be on MSG Network.
