Doan Stands Up Hor Himself, Avery Apology (or lack of) & More NHL News

  • A site for Bruins fans that don't like their current ownership group -

  • Almost a year ago and this Calgary columnist still hasn't forgotten Sean Avery's "sloppy seconds" comment. It's time to move on, don't ya think? [H/T Puck Daddy]

  • Maybe Dion Phaneuf should give Avery a "stern talking to" like Zdeno Chara did yesterday. By the way, that didn't seem to work as Avery played what appeared to be his most agitating game in a while.
  • Patrik Elias who has yet to play a game this season for the Devils could be back really soon

  • Props to Shane Doan of the Phoenix Coyotes for standing up for himself. He was laid out at the Ducks blue line by James Wisniewski by what looked like a dirty hit, inlvoving a forearm to the head. All too often we see the star players get protected by others on their team. Well, later in that same game Doan decided to hold Wisniewski accountable for his hit earlier in the game -- good to see.

To the point on getting over's like how nauseated I get every time Pierre talks about the Dallas stars and HAS to throw in that Avery is gone. Hello - Avery was not a Star long enough to damage that team, injuries and Turco were!

And the whole time I watched Doan play on Friday I kept saying to myself, that's a captain. And thinking how Drury never would do that. Ever.

I agree Kels.

Drury is excellent @ killing penalties. That's it. Maybe he should just be our PK specialist. Like I said the other day, he's now the $7M version of Blair Betts!
