2010-11 NHL All-Star Ballot Revealed - Who Selected These Players?

The NHL today announced who will be on the 2010-11 All-Star ballot. The New York Rangers have three players on the ballot: Marc Staal, Henrik Lundqvist and Marian Gaborik. The Chicago BlackHawks have the most players on the ballot with six players. Voting starts on Monday.

As a Rangers fan, I hope that no Ranger is sent to Carolina to take place in the All-Star game. The Rangers best players could use the rest for the final push towards the playoffs.

Dave from Blue Seat Blogs is wondering what the folks who decide the All-Star ballot were thinking? When you think about it, he has a good point. For the Rangers, Marc Staal is considered to be the future of the blue line, but he's had a fairly sub-par start to the season. Meanwhile, Brandon Dubinsky with ten goals so far, is amongst the league leaders.

However, the biggest joke of all is that Marc-Andre Fluery is on the ballot. Now, if you haven't watched a single game THIS season that might not sound strange at all. But, this is the 2010-11 All-Star game and so far this season, "The Flower" has been abysmal.  In fact, when you google, "crappy NHL goalie", I'm pretty sure that right now Fleury is going to be the first player to pop up in a search. He has one win this season, yes .... one friggin win! That's good for 43rd amongst NHL goalies (yeah, we know, there are only 30 teams). He's all but lost his starting job to Brent Johnson and currently has the 44th best save percentage and 38th best goals against average in the entire league. Yeah - someone at NHL headquarters has been on vacation for the past two months.
