White Placed On Waivers, Callahan & Brodeur Out Tonight & Other Game Notes

According to Bob McKenzie the Rangers have placed Todd White on waivers.

White is still expected to dress for the Rangers tonight against the Devils because they will be without the services of Ryan Callahan. Callahan has soreness in the neck after the injury he sustained in last night's game when he was shoved into the boards by Timmonen. Hopefully it's just a whiplash type injury where the area is just sore for a day or two after the injury. The Rangers are still without Drury, Prospal and Gaborik because of their injuries which have been well documented.

The Devils on the other hand have injuries of their own heading into tonight's game. Having already lost Zach Parise for the next three months with a knee injury, they will also be without Martin Brodeur tonight. Brodeur injured his arm in the Devils' last game. It was expected that Brodeur would play tonight, but at this morning's skate Brodeur had too much pain in his arm still and will sit out of action for at least another night.

Don't get too excited Rangers fans, according to Tom Gulitti "Hedberg is 11-4-2 for career vs. NYR with 2.12 GAA and 1 SO. Last season with Atlanta, he went 3-1-0 against the Blueshirts with a 2.41 GAA."

Anton Volchenkov will return to the blue line for the Devils after being on injured reserve. Matt Corrente will not play for the Devils as he's been placed on injured reserve. You might remember Corrente from the big hit he threw on Dubinsky the last time the teams met.
